Women In Entrepreneurship is a new student organization on campus focused on empowering and supporting women in their professional endeavors through the lens of innovation and entrepreneurship. We are dedicated to blending community with achievement to support each other in all goals, personal and professional. WIE’s goal is to empower women through entrepreneurship to pursue growth and dare to innovate. We value the pursuit of growth and learning, empower entrepreneurs, strive to be the change we seek, collaborate to face challenges with optimism, and celebrate diversity.

Women In Entrepreneurship is about supporting the entrepreneurial mission in women who tend to be underrepresented in industry. With that being said, anyone who supports this mission is more than welcome to join. We firmly believe that we are stronger through our diversity, no matter what that looks like.

We hold bi-weekly meetings Thursdays at 7 pm. For more information about exact dates, locations, and events, follow us on instagram @tamuwieo. We post all our flyers on there with all the info you need for every meeting! Furthermore, members receive meetings reminding them of meetings and get access to our GroupMe where information is also distributed.

Members must attend a minimum of half of all WIE events per semester to remain in good standing and receive the benefits of membership including t-shirts, discounts to events, resources, etc. We also have dues of $15 that are paid every semester upon acceptance or membership renewal.

Our recruitment process begins with an application. You can find our application on our website under the ’membership’ tab. Once your application is reviewed, applicants will be selected for the interview round. You will receive an email explaining your status. Applicants who make it to the interview round will receive detailed information in an email, including a sign-up link for interviews. Once you have interviewed, you will receive a final decision email. Once accepted into the organization, you will receive access to the GroupMe, resources, merchandise, pay dues, and have attendance obligations.

In short, nope! Members who are interested in remaining in the organization will be asked to fill out a “Continued Membership Form” and pay dues at the beginning of the semester. Once you’re in (and in good standing), you’re in!
