According to UN Women Deputy Executive, Lakshmi Puri, “If women and men stood on identical footing in terms of participation in the economy through paid work and entrepreneurship, the world could see as much as 28 trillion dollars in global growth by 2025.” Although the number of women entrepreneurs grows each year, gender equality is still lacking given a historically uneven playing field. Equality can be more easily achieved if schools, businesses, government, and the community take initiative to support women in entrepreneurship. The Women in Entrepreneurship Organization aims to advocate for women entrepreneurship and leadership to make an impact in the community now and empower the women entrepreneurs of the future. This group welcomes Texas A&M students of any sex and gender who support women entrepreneurs.
